Restart start time to default
In the Job Schedule window, it is never possible to modify the settings of a job that is currently running. With custom jobs, you must first stop the job to make it editable.
However, system jobs that are stopped also do not allow you to edit settings, such as start time or interval. This is because system jobs have preset values that cannot be modified.
Systems jobs are intended to run on a consistent schedule that can not be changed.
Occasionally, a system job can get out of sync with its intended run time. This could be due to circumstances such as:
-
A database shutdown
-
Database maintenance
-
Daylight saving time change
If there is an interruption to a system job and the execution time becomes out of sync, you can reset the start time to be aligned with the intended scheduled interval.
Example
System jobs that are mandatory will have a default start date time. It is a hard-coded start time, such as CLEANUPDAILY always runs daily at 2:00am. The Reset start time to default action will realign the job to it's intended start time and restart the job.
