Risk Assessment Type Parameters

Risk Assessment Parameters

Each Risk Assessment Type has the following parameters.

Parameter

Description

  • Site

The Site that this Risk Assessment type is to be configured for.

  • Code

A unique code for the Risk Assessment type.

  • Active

The type needs to be set to Active.

  • Default

Only one Risk Assessment type should be the default. The default is applied to a new entity.

  • Type

Defaults to ‘TRAX’ (Task Risk Assessment).

  • Title

A title describing the Risk Assessment type.

  • Prog value

It’s possible to provide the ‘cow_riskasmttype_riskvaluenotrequired’ prog value.

With this prog value, the business rules do not check that all tasks/hazards have a risk number before ALARP is set to Yes.

  • URL to description of matrix

This an URL that can be added to provide information about the matrix. This is shown as the Description hyperlink in the matrix itself.

How the matrix looks

You can design a matrix to look how you would like. See Risk Matrix Template for an example.

Parameter

Description

No. of columns

The number of columns to be used in the risk assessment matrix.

No. of rows

The number of rows to be used in the risk assessment matrix.

X-axis

X-axis – Label

The X-axis label that displays in the Risk Assessment matrix.

X-axis – Abbreviation label

The X-axis abbreviated label that displays when adding values for initial or residual risk for a task/hazard.

X-axis – Codes for columns

The codes for the X-axis columns. They are also used to define the content for each cell.

An example value is 1|2|3|4|5.

X-axis – Labels for columns

The labels for the X columns in the matrix.

An example value is Rare|Unlikely|Possible|Probable|Likely.

Y-axis

Y-axis – Label

The Y-axis label that displays in the Risk Assessment matrix.

Y-axis – Abbreviation label

The Y-axis abbreviated label that displays when adding values for initial or residual risk for a task/hazard.

Y-axis – Codes for rows

The codes for the Y-axis columns. They are also used to define the content for each cell.

An example value is A|B|C|D|E.

Y-axis – Labels for rows

The labels for the Y columns in the matrix.

An example value is Negligible|Minor|Major|Critical|Catastrophic.
