Accessing business rules for an entity

Business rules are accessible for some entities. See Entities with business rules.

  • All available Business rules for an entity (for example, work permits) can be accessed from the Maintenance of entities and workflows window.

  • Business rules can be of type Check or Execute.

Business rules for statuses and workflow actions

  • Business rules can also be configured per process and per status.

  • A Business rule can either be accessible for a process or for a status, but not both.

  • A status or a process can have maximum 100 business rules enabled.

Access business rules for an entity

  1. From the Tools menu, open the System management menu.

  2. Double-click to open Entities and Workflows.

    The Maintenance of entities and workflows window opens.

  3. Right-click an entity and select Business rules.

    The list of available business rules displays with the following columns.

    • Is in use

    When selected, this business rule is active.

    • Type

    A rule will be of type Check or Execute.

    • Used by process

    Shows if the rule is in use by a process.

    • Used by status

    Shows if the rule is in use by a status.

    • Customer specific

    Indicates whether the business rule is a custom rule for a specific customer.

    • Updated

    Date when the rule was last changed.

    • Description

    A description of the business rule. See Description dialog.
