Create recipient roles

Recipient roles

You must configure recipient roles as part of configuring the approval process.

When approving work items, there are two options:

  • Anyone in the recipient role can be notified.

  • A specific person in the recipient role can or must be notified.

First, you need to define the recipient roles and specify who are the people in the role.

Add roles for an entity workflow

These roles will be available for the following procedures:

Create recipient roles for workflow actions

  1. Open the Entities and workflows window.

  2. Select an entity, and then right-click anywhere in the window to open the context menu.

  3. Click Roles for processes.

    The table lists the defined roles for workflow actions for that entity.

  4. Click New on the main toolbar to add a new row in the table.

  5. Enter the Code and Name and other details.

  6. Under Type of role, click the drop-down menu to specify whether the user role has permission to approve.

    • Recipient - A member of the group will be a recipient when workflow actions are sent for approval.

  7. Click Save on the main toolbar.
