You cannot delete users from the database. However, you can deactivate a user. The user account remains in the database.

Important: All configuration that is associated with a user will be deleted when you deactivate the user. Reactivating the user at a later time will not restore these configurations.

Deactivate a user

  1. From the Tools menu, open the System Management menu and double-click Users.

  2. Query for the user to deactivate.

  3. On the Maintenance of Users window, select the user and clear the Active checkbox.

  4. When you clear the Active checkbox, the following message appears.

  5. Click OK to dismiss the message.

If you decide not to continue with the deactivation, close the Maintenance of Users window without saving. The user will remain active.

  6. If you are sure you want to proceed with the deactivation, click Save.

Inactivated users

When a user is inactivated, an attachment is created and added to the user information in AVEVA™ Operational Safety Management Administration.

Search for the user and select Attachment to see what rights and privileges that the user had before being disabled.

See user attachment for inactive user

  1. Query for the user by entering an identifying value for that user.

  2. Select the inactive user and click Attachment icon on the main toolbar.
