Types of dynamic functionalities
Dynamic functionalities belong to one of two types: Standard or Status category.
Important: It is important that you fully validate and test Dynamic Functionalities in a test environment before taking the configuration to a production environment. It is possible to configure infinite loops.
Standard
These are standard software functionalities that can be applied individually to each status. If a functionality is enabled for a status, it means that while the work item is in this status this functionality is available to the user.
Status category
Defines a category of statuses. For example, statuses that can be considered Active statuses. For information on how to configure which statuses belong to a category, see Categorize statuses.
-
Status categories can be connected to custom business rules.
-
There is one standard business rule supplied. When a status belongs to the Active category, it will trigger the business rule to execute.
For more information about how status categories work, see Using status categories to trigger business rules.
