It's not possible to edit the properties of a job while it is active. You must first stop the job to modify it, and then restart the job.
Active check box
The Active check box indicates whether the job is active. Since the job is not editable while in Active status, you will need to stop the job, before the values become editable.
-
To Activate - Select the Active checkbox. This also starts the job by indicating to Oracle that the job is ready to be picked up and run.
-
To Deactivate - Stop the job. This automatically clears the Active checkbox.
Open the Job Schedule window
-
From the Tools menu, open the System Management window, then double-click Job Schedule.

The Job Schedule window opens.
Modify a job
-
Right-click the job in the table and select Stop job.

-
Make modifications.
-
Select the Active checkbox again to restart the job.
-
Click Save on the main menu.
What happens to Oracle job name
An Oracle job number is required by Oracle to run a job. Oracle assigns this value.
-
The Oracle job name only appears for an active job.
-
If a job is stopped, the job number clears.
When you restart the job, Oracle will pick up the job and assign a new Oracle job number. This could take up to an hour to occur.
