Preconfigure the PDF form in Adobe

Before importing a PDF form into AVEVA™ Operational Safety Management, there is some configuration work to do in Adobe Acrobat.

You will need to have access to the Prepare Form tool in Adobe Acrobat.

Purpose of preconfiguration

The main purpose of this step is to define and give names to each of the form fields. See Add form fields in Adobe.

Naming conventions for PDF form fields

The names that you give to the form fields will be used in OSM. They should only contain:

• Uppercase letters (A to Z)

• Numbers (0 to 9)

• The underscore character (_)

  Important: The period character (.) and space character ( ) cannot be used in form field names.
