Unified Supply Chain Unified Supply Chain 2026.3 release notes

2026.3, released September 2026, is a feature release addressing performance, stability and security. For more information on product features and functions, including:

Plan

New features and enhancements

The following new features and enhancements were added:

  • Add Watch Items for Utility Base Loads:
    You can add watch Items representing Utility Base Loads to Watch Sets. This enables you to view the values for base loads in Watch Windows and exported reports, as well as via CaseItem reporting. Utility Base Loads are fixed values, and you can update these via the SDK and sensitivity analytics for exploration workflows.

    Update the default UoM for supplies and demands in Network models:
    In volume-based Network models, default Supply and Demand prices are now shown in $/bbl instead of $/kbbl. This aligns with the default unit of measure with typical workflows.

  • Upgrade Spiral Suite to run on .NET 10:
    Spiral Suite now runs on Microsoft .NET 10 or higher.

  • Improve the Update Case experience:
    You can now use Update Case with a faster, clearer workflow that gives you more control over when comparisons run and when updates are applied. After selecting the source and target cases (and plants, if applicable), select Compare to generate the comparison results.

  • Improve Update Case Performance:
    You can now diagnose performance issues, manually initiate a comparison, and cancel an in-progress comparison.

  • Export Optimization Analysis data via SDK:
    You can now obtain the optimization analysis data via the SDK report for optimization runs - this enables you to store an audit trail of the model run and access the logging information from the optimization. The Optimization Analysis data can be accessed via top level fields within a JSON template - as the data can be quite large it is recommended to only request this when absolutely required. The data is returned as a JSON dictionary, but unlike the remainder of Publish Data cannot be filtered using standard template syntax.

  • Add % as unit of measurement in Stream Routing grid:
    If you changed the Constraint Unit of Measure from percent, it was difficult to change it back. Percent has now been added to the dropdown as an available Unit of Measure.

  • Auto-generate current Publish Data schema template:
    You can now download a default JSON inclusion template for Publish Data. The template includes all available Publish Data nodes set to true, so you can quickly edit it to exclude anything you do not need and avoid generating excessive output. Default templates are available for both Plan and Network models (the Plan template is a subset of the Network template).

New features and enhancements

The following new features and enhancements were added:

  • Remove static MIP and problem data from the optimization analysis report:
    You can now work with a more focused Optimization Analysis report. The report no longer includes static MIP variable listings or problem data output. MIP data is now reported separately for each start point, making it easier to review and debug specific phases of an optimization run. If you need a complete listing of equations and variables, you can retrieve this from the MPOC output.

  • Include MIP variable values in the Optimization Analysis Report:
    You can see MIP variable details in the Optimization Analysis Report, including each variable’s type, valid range/bounds (including semi-continuous bounds), and its end-of-run value for each run seed/start point. This helps you assess how much MIP is in your model (which can affect run times) and troubleshoot integer-infeasible runs by highlighting variables that may not satisfy their MIP constraints.

  • Enhance the stalling convergence accelerator:
    You can use the stalling convergence accelerator to help optimization runs complete more reliably when solver progress stalls. When enabled, the accelerator monitors solver progress, tightens step bounds to reduce oscillation, and helps the run converge. Depending on your configuration, it can also end a run early when remaining non-convergence is unlikely to affect the solution.

    To enable the stalling convergence accelerator, use an additional run setting. If runs typically take more than 150 iterations to solve, contact Spiral Support for further advice.

Schedule

New features and enhancements

The following new features and enhancements were added:

  • Label Overflow for small Gantt events:

    You can use Show > Label Overflow to display full-length labels for very short Gantt events. When enabled, labels can extend beyond the event bar, making small events easier to spot and reducing cases where labels were unreadable because they were restricted to the event bar length.

  • Show manifold and process unit connections in Gantt pane:

    When you expand a manifold or process unit row, you can choose to show or hide its connections.

  • Highlight current date in Gantt (Tabular view) to aid identification:
    You can now more easily identify today’s date in Gantt charts. In Tabular view, the row for the current date is highlighted, making it quicker to locate the current day when reviewing schedules.

  • Extend rule asset selection:
    Rules for asset selection have been increased.

  • Shorten pane names:

    You can shorten pane names to make better use of space when you have many panes open. When enabled, pane tabs show an abbreviated pane type (for example, Tabular becomes [T], Gantt becomes [G], and Charts becomes [C]) so the rest of the tab can display more of the pane name.

  • Use Enter to apply changes in Inspectors:

    Press Enter to input and apply data in Inspectors, in addition to using Tab. This provides a more convenient key to commit a value as you move to the next field or cell.

  • Link Charts to Gantt time range:

    Link a Charts pane to a Gantt pane to keep their visible time ranges in sync. When you zoom or change the visible range in the Gantt, the charts automatically update to show the same time period. You can also zoom in on charts directly within the Charts pane without expanding them.

  • Zoom in on Charts:

    You can now zoom in on individual charts directly in the Charts pane without expanding them. To zoom a chart, hold Ctrl and scroll. To pan a zoomed chart, hold Ctrl and drag.

Resolved issues

The following issues were resolved for this release:

  • Rules affecting simulation past end date

    Resolved an issue where certain rules affected simulations outside of their configured time period.

Problem Builder

New features and enhancements

The following new features and enhancements were added:

  • Allow the problem builder to use density in any valid unit of measure when creating stream flow predictions from base + delta models:
    When you use the problem builder to create stream flow predictions from base + delta models, you can now enter density with any valid unit of measure.

    Unified Supply Chain Suite uses density at a base temperature of 15°C to allow conversions between weight and volume on liquid streams. It is also used in models that do not specify a gas specific volume on gas streams. If a required value is missing, an error message is raised.

    Previously, base + delta model predictions of density at 15°C had to be entered in g/cc. Now, to help simplify modelling and reporting, the property can be entered in any consistent unit of measure such as kg/m3 or g/l.

    Similar changes have been made for the gas specific volume, which can now be entered in any consistent unit of measure instead of only NM3/t.

Optimizer

New features and enhancements

The following new features and enhancements were added:

  • Upgrade FICO to 9.7:
    FICO Xpress has been updated to v9.7.

With the release of Unified Supply Chain 2026.3, you can access the online help files via the AVEVA Documentation Portal.

This release marks the transition of our online help from installed local help to the AVEVA Documentation Portal, which offers enhanced security, unified product content, faster search functionality, and a modern user experience with customization options.
