Update P&ID Data with changes made in P&ID Reports

This procedure is used to update P&ID data with changes made to the project database in AVEVA P&ID Reports.

For example, if a user has added or changed dataset values for components in AVEVA P&ID Reports, then in order for these changes to be reflected in AVEVA P&ID drawings, this procedure must be completed.

Note: If the USER_UPDATEFROMDBSYNC user-defined directive on the Miscellaneous – Settings Sub-Category of the AVEVA P&ID Project Administration program is set to ‘Yes’ (the default setting is ‘No’), then this operation will automatically take place when project configuration settings are manually updated by the user.

Note: Data should be updated in the drawing using this option immediately after it is modified in AVEVA P&ID Reports. If the drawing is synchronised before this happens, the modifications will be lost.

Associated Project Configuration Options

Whether or tag label data is updated as part of this procedure is controlled by the setting of the USER_UPDATETAGFROMREPORTS user-defined directive on the Miscellaneous – Settings Sub-Category of the AVEVA P&ID Project Administration program. By default, tag label data is not updated.

Procedure

Complete the procedure by selecting the Update from Database option in the AVEVA P&ID group of the Home tab.
