The display of drawings and the colours used when comparing drawings and reports may be configured.
Select the Settings option from the Home tab. The Settings tab is then displayed in the middle section of the Document Manager. Select either the Graphics, Report Compare, P&ID Compare, Isolation, Validation, Project Comparison Details or Automation sub-tab as required.
Graphics Tab

As required, select the display driver that the drawing viewer is to used.
Press Save to save the selection.
Report Compare Tab

Excel reports can be compared using the Document Manager. Select the colours used to highlight differences using this tab.
Click the appropriate Background and select the required colour from the colour selection dialog that is then displayed. The selected colours are displayed under the Cell preview heading, and on the Background button.
Check the Data Comparison checkbox if cells containing changed data are to be highlighted.
Press Save to save the selections.
P&ID Compare Tab

Drawing revisions can be compared using the Document Manager. Select the colours used to highlight differences using this tab.
Press the appropriate button and select the required colour from the colour selection dialog that is then displayed. The selected colours are displayed in the preview fields next to the buttons, and on the buttons.
Press Save to save the selections.
Isolation Tab

Isolation areas and boundaries can be highlighted using the Document Manager. Select the colours to display isolated areas and boundaries using this tab.
Press the appropriate button and select the required colour from the colour selection dialog that is then displayed. The selected colours are displayed in the preview fields next to the buttons, and on the buttons.
Click Clear Isolation Data to clear as isolation details (for example, colouring) from Document Manager.
Check the Enable Equipment As Boundary Item checkbox to enable an equipment item to act as an isolation boundary when a check for isolation/leak is performed. By default, the checkbox is unchecked.
Press Save to save the selections.
Validation Tab

The Validation tab is used to set up and select the rules to be used when validating drawings. Rules perform validation by querying the database and highlighting those items that match the query criteria. Refer to Validate Drawing Records.
Note: The following rules are supplied with the product:

List of unannotated items
-
List of unconnected OPC
-
List of incomplete tagged items
-
List of null tagged valves
-
List of null tagged line fittings
-
List of Out of Spec components
Note: The "List of Out of Spec components" rule is used to highlight items which are out of spec with respect to the code rules set up in the Spec Driven - Code Rule Sub-Category and the Out of Spec Sub-Category of the AVEVA P&ID Project Administration program.
To add a new rule, right-click on the grid and select New Row:

A new row is then added to the grid. Enter a name and a description in the fields provided.
Select the query for the rule from the list of queries:

The list includes all the pre-defined and user-defined queries available for the project, as defined in AVEVA P&ID Reports.
Note: In the case of user-defined queries, the Handle and DWG+SHT column names must be utilised to identify items when creating them in AVEVA P&ID Reports.
Each rule can highlight the items that match its query criteria is a different colour. To pick a colour, click Colour for the rule and select it from the colour selection dialog that is then displayed. The button is then displayed in the selected colour.

Note: By default the colour for the "List of Out of Spec components" rule will be the same as specified for out of spec items in the Spec Driven - Code Rule Sub-Category of the AVEVA P&ID Project Administration program.
If a rule is to be applied when carrying out validation, make sure that its Apply checkbox is checked.
To delete a rule, right-click on it and select Delete Rule from the menu that is then displayed. This option is not enabled for rules provided with the product.
Press Save to save the validation rules.
Project Comparison Details Tab

Drawing revisions can be compared against a different project using the Document Manager.
Check the Select Project checkbox, by default the Destination database located at same server checkbox is checked. The List of Projects is populated with the available projects on the same server and the Selected Project Description field is populated with the selected project for comparison.

Uncheck the Destination database located at same server checkbox to populate the List of Projects with projects on a different server.

Enter a valid server name in the Server Name field.
Depending on whether the database is to be logged into using Windows Authentication or SQL Server Authentication, select either the Use Windows Integrated Security (Windows Authentication) option or the Login as Administrator with password (SQL Server Security) option.
If the second option is selected, enter the login details in the Admin Login Name and Password fields. This login must be a valid SQL Server Administrator account login.
Test that the entered details are valid by clicking Test Connection. A message will then be displayed indicating whether or not the connection details are valid. For example:

The List of Projects is populated with the available projects on the specified server and the Selected Project Description field is populated with the selected project for comparison.

Press Save to save the selections.
Automation Tab
The Automation tab is used to define the colours used to highlight routing paths on a drawing, refer to View Drawing to Generate Routing Automation Rules.
