To improve productivity while using AVEVA P&ID, the user can remap default AutoCAD commands that are assigned to shortcut keys.

For example, AVEVA P&ID default copy and paste functionality can be mapped to the Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V Copy and Paste shortcut keys, this replaces the default AutoCAD copy clip and paste functionality. The AVEVA P&ID functionality enables copying and pasting of P&ID elements, together with their underlying data, using shortcut keys.

  1. Enter CUI at the command prompt.

  2. The Customize User Interface window is then displayed. Select Keyboard Shortcuts> Shortcut Keys from the explorer:

  3. Select Copy Clip (CTRL+C key) from the Shortcuts pane and type the command ^C^CVPECOPYCLIP in the Macro field in the Information pane. Then click Apply.

  4. Select Paste (CTRL+V key) from the Shortcuts pane and type the command ^C^CVPEPASTECLIP in the Macro field in Information pane. Then click Apply.

  5. Click OK to exit the window.

  6. Enter AVVRIBBON at the command prompt or restart the application to make the shortcut keys available.
