Import Symbols

To import symbols into a project from a Proteus Schema 4.0.1 XML file using the DEXPI import facility, right-click on the project node in the Symbol Explorer and select the Import Symbols from XML option from the menu that is then displayed:

Alternatively, select the ISO 15926 Symbol Import option in the AVEVA Integration group of the Manage tab.
The Create AVEVA P&ID Symbols from Proteus XML file dialog is then displayed:

In the Proteus XML File field, enter the location and filename of the XML file from which symbol data is to be imported, or click Browse and browse for the file using the following dialog:

In the AVEVA PID Port Symbol field, enter the location and filename of the drawing file that is to be used to represent any ports on imported items (e.g. valves), or click Browse and browse for the file.
Alternatively, click Find Ports. The grid in the lower part of the dialog will then list details all of the port symbols in the project. Choose the required port by selecting its Selected checkbox.
In the AVEVA PID Project Folder field, enter the location of project folder into which symbols are to be imported, or click Browse and browse for the folder.
When all the required import settings have been made, click OK.
The Symbol Selection Form dialog is then displayed:

The dialog lists all the shape catalogue symbols in the selected XML file. Choose the symbols to be imported by checking their Selected checkboxes. Use the Select / Unselect All checkbox to check or uncheck all the Selected checkboxes.
When the required symbols have been imported, select OK. The import will then proceed, and the selected symbols added to the AVEVA P&ID project from the XML file.
