By default, new projects are created with a user in each of the four predefined Groups, each named after the Group they are a member of. Further users can be added, edited and removed.

Below is the initial user list, accessed by clicking Users in the left-hand pane:

In the fields provided, enter the new user’s user name, password, full name, and (optionally), email address.

Marking the user as Is Administrator enables the user to run Security Manager as an Administrator. Users in the System Admin group will have that ability automatically.

The user can be assigned to one of the five Set up Groups. The Group a user belongs to defines their access to AVEVA P&ID "objects". Refer to Object Security Settings for more information. The exception to this is when a user defined group is selected. In this case, specific objects and areas can be defined.

To assign the user to a Group, double-click on the Group name in the Not Member of Group list. The selected Group is then moved to the Member of Group list.

To unassign the user from a Group double-click on the Group name in the Member of Group list.

Edit and Delete Users

To edit a user, highlight Users in the left hand pane and double-click on the user record in the right-hand pane. The User window is then displayed. Edit the details of the user as described above.

To delete a user, select it from the list of users and click Delete User in the toolbar menu. The following message is then displayed:

Click Yes to delete the selected user.
