Folders in the Explorer

If the option to display all drawings in the Drawing Location folder is selected, the folder structure and all .dwg files in it are displayed:

A number of menu options are available by right-clicking on a folder node:

• The Refresh option is used to refresh the displayed drawings and folders.

• The New option is used to create a new folder. The new drawing will be created within the selected folder, refer to Create a New Drawing from the Engineering Explorer.

• The Add New Folder option is used to create a sub-folder within the selected folder. Sub-folders may themselves have sub-folders.

  

• The Rename Folder option is used to rename the selected folder.

• The Delete Folder option is used to delete the selected folder.

  Be aware that deleting a folder will also delete all drawings and sub-folders in that folder. The following message is displayed when this option is selected:

  

  Click OK to continue.

  Note: If the folder contains drawings which are in locked state (for example, they have been opened by another user), then the folder cannot be deleted.

Folders (and the items in them) can be dragged and dropped within a project. For example, a sub-folder can be moved to be the sub-folder of a different folder, or to become a top-level folder under the project node. Or a top-level folder can be moved to become a sub-folder.
