  • Last UpdatedMar 14, 2024
  • 2 minute read

This procedure is used to run a command or commands for a batch of selected project drawings.

For example, the user may perform the Global Symbol Exchange procedure on every project drawing at once, or on a set of selected drawings.

Associated Project Configuration Options

The name of the command or commands that are to be run on batches of drawings are specified using the USER_COMMANDNAME user-defined directive on the Miscellaneous – Settings Sub-Category of the AVEVA P&ID Project Administration program.

Procedure

  1. Start the procedure by selecting the Update Drawings option in the Batch Group group of the Utilities tab.

  2. The following dialog is then displayed:

  3. Select the drawings that are to be updated by the procedure by checking the checkboxes next to their names.

  4. Select Process. A batch file is then created called "UpdateDrawing.bat" in the main project folder.

When the process is complete, the following message is displayed:

    Embedded Image (65% Scaling) (LIVE)

The list of commands to be run using the batch file is listed in a UpdateDrawing.scr file, created in the same folder.

  5. To update the selected drawings with the command specified by the directive, run the batch file. If multiple commands are specified in the batch file, they will be run in the order in which they are listed against the USER_COMMANDNAME user-defined directive.
