Specify the Filter Value

The specific drawing attributes that make up this value and their order are specified using facilities available in the Property Filter Rules section of the Drawing - Settings Sub-Category of the AVEVA P&ID Administration program. Use of filtering is also switched on in this section.
Using facilities available in this section, the drawing attribute fields from which the filter value is to be derived are selected in the required order.
For example, if the following attributes are selected in this order in the Select Property Filter Rules dialog:

... and the following values are entered against those attributes in the Drawing Properties dialog of a drawing:

...then the filter value will be 722 for that drawing. For each drawing, the filter value depends on whatever attribute values are entered in the specified drawing attribute fields.
If different attributes are selected in the Select Property Filter Rules dialog, or the same attributes in a different order, that would set the filter value to a different value. For example, if Sheet Attribute 1, Sheet Attribute 2 and Design Area Attribute are selected from the Field 1, 2 and 3 list of values, then the filter value for this particular drawing would be 227.
Using the value, filtering can now be applied (filtering must also have been switched on for the project).
