Update Dataset Definitions

Changes to drawings resulting from dataset definitions being changed in the AVEVA P&ID Project Administration program may not automatically implemented when project drawings are loaded (depending on project settings). If this is the case, the user must use this procedure to trigger these changes "manually" in each drawing after it has loaded. The procedure can also be used to trigger such updates at any time, as required.

Associated Project Configuration Options

• Dataset definitions are set in the User Defined Attributes - DataSet Sub-Category of the AVEVA P&ID Project Administration program.

• The Refresh Dataset Definitions checkbox on the User Defined Attributes - DataSet Sub-Category controls whether or not updates resulting from changes to dataset definitions are made automatically when drawings are opened.

Procedure

Select the Refresh Dataset Definitions option in the AVEVA P&ID group of the Home tab. The datasets attributes on the drawing are then updated to reflect the current symbol dataset definitions set in the AVEVA P&ID Project Administration program.
