This procedure is used to add and remove elbows to/from pipes, process links and signal lines. This has the effect of adding a new segment to the line.
Procedure
-
Start the procedure by either:
-
selecting the pipe, process link or signal line segment to which an elbow is to be added on The Drawing Page, then right-clicking and selecting Segments>Elbow from the shortcut menu (this option is not available for signal lines), or
-
selecting the Elbow Stretch option in the Modify group of the Home tab.
-
-
If the second method of starting the procedure is selected, the Command prompt will display:
Pick a pipe group to split:
Pick the pipe, process link or signal line to which an elbow is to be added.

If the first method of starting the procedure is selected, a segment will already have been selected.
-
The Command prompt will display:
Pick a point to stretch:
Pick the point on the drawing to which the line is to be stretched to form the new elbow.

The new elbow is then created at the point. The segment to which the elbow has been added is now split into two segments at the elbow.
