Rename Drawings Macro

The macro is designed to rename drawings in the project. Drawings can be renamed individually. Alternatively, a batch operation can be run to modify the drawing name, drawing identification number and sheet identification number of multiple drawings.The macro can be executed using the AVEVA P&ID Macros Manager dialog. Refer to AVEVA P&ID Macros Manager.

Note:
The macro can be executed manually by the user with commands defined in the lisp routines: AVVMAC_RENAMEDWG to rename drawings and AVVMAC_UPDDRGID to modify the drawing name, drawing identification number and sheet identification number of multiple drawings.

Note:
The functionality is only available to users with administrator access rights.

Note:
Locked drawings cannot be renamed.

The AVEVA P&ID Drawing Rename Utility dialog can be used to rename drawings.

indicates a locked drawing.

indicates an unlocked drawing.

Check the required checkbox to select the drawing to be renamed.

Original

Displays the name of the currently selected drawing.

Rename

Enter the drawing name and click Rename to rename the currently selected drawing.

Excel Export

Click Excel Export to export drawing information for multiple drawings to an excel file.

The example displays data returned in an excel output file.

Edit the TargetDrawingName, DrawingID and SheetID columns to modify the drawing name, drawing identification number and sheet identification number of multiple drawings.

Save the excel file.

Note:
To successfully modify the drawing name, drawing identification number and sheet identification number of multiple drawings, the SourceDrawingName column must match the actual name of the drawing at the time the macro is executed.

Note:
Drawing ID and Sheet ID values can only be modified for drawings open at the drawing editor. To rename Drawing ID and Sheet ID values not open at the drawing editor, use this macro in combination with the macro designed to create batch operations AVVMAC_CRBATCH. Refer to BatchGenerator.show vbModeless Macro.

The example displays a modified excel file.

Excel Import

Click Excel Import to import drawing information for multiple drawings from an excel file.

The example displays returned data indicating imported drawing information.
