Add Symbols and Extend Pipes to them

This procedure is used to add a new symbol to a drawing and then automatically extend a selected pipe to connect to that symbol by adding the required segment or segments.
For the procedure for adding new segments to either end of a pipe or signal line, refer to Add Pipe and Signal Line Segments. Another procedure is provided for adding new pipe segments from any point on a drawing, refer to Add Pipe Segments from any Point.
Note: Not applicable to drain pipes.
Procedure

Start the procedure by selecting the Add Symbol at Point option in the Modify group of the Home tab.
If a pipe was not selected before the above option was selected, the user will now be prompted to pick a pipe.

The Symbol List dialog is then displayed:

Select the symbol to be inserted and click OK.

The Command prompt will then display:
Insertion point:
Select the point on the drawing at which the symbol is to be added.

The Command prompt will then display:
Move pipe node [START/END]:
Select the pipe node (its start or end) that is to be extended to the inserted symbol.

Finally, the Command prompt will then display:
Select port on new symbol to move end node:
Select a port on the inserted symbol to extend the pipe to.
Segments are then added from selected pipe node to connect the pipe to the selected symbol port.
