Compare Revisions

To compare multiple revisions of the same drawing or report either:

• Select them from the list of revision records, and then right-click and select the Compare option from the menu that is then displayed, or from the Home tab.

  

• Or, select a revision from the list, right-click and select Compare > Set as Source Drawing / Set as Source Report from the menu that is then displayed. Then right-click on another drawing and select Compare > Set as Target Drawing / Set as Target Report.

  

• Select the revision to compare the current drawing with from the list of revisions in the Compare Group of the Manage Tab, then click the Compare With option.

  The Document Manager then opens with the current drawing compared to the selected revision.

  Note: If the Document Manager is already open, it must first be closed in order for this option to work. A message will be displayed which will request that the Document Manager be shut.
  If the user selects Yes, the Document Manager will close and then re-open with the current drawing compared to the selected revision.
  If the user selects No, the command is cancelled.

  Note: If the drawing has no revisions, the Compare With option is disabled.

The selected drawing or report revisions are then displayed side-by-side in the middle section of the Document Manager.

Differences are highlighted in the colours selected in the Settings tabs, refer to Settings.

Hover the mouse over a highlighted difference to displayed details in a tooltip.

Simultaneous Navigation

If required, the opened revisions may be navigated around simultaneously, for example, so that the same areas on both revisions are viewed at the same time and at the same zoom level. To enable this feature, select the Simultaneous Navigation option from the Home tab.

View Comparison Details

To view details of the differences in item attributes between compared drawings, select the Data Comparison Details tab.

Every row in the tab displays details of one of the differences highlighted in the compared drawings.

To zoom in on a change in the drawings, highlight the relevant row, right-click and then select Zoom from the menu that is then displayed:

The items in then question are then zoomed in to.

Export Comparison Details to Excel

To export details of the differences in item attributes between compared drawings to an Excel spreadsheet, select the Export option from the Home tab, the File tab or the right-click menu of the drawing, then select the Data Comparison Details option:

Specify the required name and location in the window that is then displayed, and select Save to complete the export.
