Label Drain Pipes

This procedure is used to label drain pipes. Drain pipes can be labelled in the "normal" way, for example, in the same way as other pipes, and with drain pipe specific annotation symbols including pipe numbers and optionally leader lines.

The drain pipe annotation symbol is specified using the Pipes - Drain Pipe Sub Category of the AVEVA P&ID Project Administration program.
Procedure
Label Drain Pipes with "Normal" Labels
The AVEVA P&ID Drain Pipes Properties dialog is used to label drain pipes.

The procedure is similar to that for main pipes, although the above dialog can also be accessed via drain pipe continuation symbols. Refer to Label Pipes.
Label Drain Pipes with Annotation Symbols

Start the procedure by selecting the selecting the Draw Drain Pipe option in the Pipeline group of the Home tab.

The Command prompt will display:
Specify action for drain pipe [Select pipe / Draw pipe / Insert Symbol / Create Pipe / Exit] <Exit>:
Select Select Pipe.

The Command prompt will then display:
Select pipe to extract pipe number:
Select the drain pipe to labelled.

The Command prompt will then display:
Specify action for drain pipe [Select different pipe / Draw pipe / Insert Symbol / Annotation / Exit] <Exit>:
Select Annotation.

The Command prompt will then display:
Insertion point:
Place the annotation symbol as required. The above prompt will be displayed again. Place further continuation symbols if required, otherwise cancel the command.

To add a leader line between the annotation symbol and a drain pipe, or a drain pipe continuation symbol, right-click on the annotation symbol and check the Annotation Symbol With Leader Line option on the menu that is then displayed:

The Command prompt will then display:
Specify point location:
Select the end of a drain pipe or a a drain pipe continuation symbol. The leader line is then placed between the annotation symbol and the selected point.

To remove an annotation symbol, right-click on the annotation symbol and uncheck the Annotation Symbol option on the menu that is then displayed. The symbol, pipe number and leader line (if there is one) are then deleted.
