To view isolation areas on a drawing, access the Isolation tab. The tab contains a list of working copies of drawings which were saved in the AVEVA P&ID application.

Right-click on the drawing and select View from the menu that is then displayed:

The drawing is then displayed in the middle section of the Document Manager:

Navigation options (zoom, pan etc) and export options are available by right-clicking on a drawing or report, and from the Home tab. Refer to View Revisions.
To view an isolation area on a drawing, right-click on an appropriate item or the label of an item, e.g. that of equipment, pipe or nozzle, and select Check for Isolation/Leak:

The application will then process the drawing to ascertain the isolation area within which the selected item is located:

Click Cancel to stop the process if required.
When the process is complete, the following message is displayed:

Click OK. The isolation area is then highlighted on the drawing view:

The isolation area and its boundary are highlighted in the colours selected in the Settings tabs. The rest of the drawing is displayed in grey.
If the isolation area extends onto other drawings, the highlighting is applied to them as well (whether or not they are currently open). Drawings with the isolation area on them are highlighted in the isolation area colour in the drawing list:

Highlighting can be cleared from drawings and the drawing list using a button on the Isolation Tab.
Right-Click Menu Options
For drawings displayed in the drawing list in the isolation area highlight colour, the following right-click menu options are displayed:

-
Select View to open the drawing clicked on in the application.
-
Select View All to open all drawings that include the isolation area.
-
Select Export All to PDF to generate PDF versions of all the drawings that include the isolation area.
The PDF files will be exported into a sub-folder of the project Output folder with the name item for which the isolation process was run. For example:

The PDF export also takes place when an isolation details report is generated.
-
Select Generate Report to generate a report that details the items in the isolation area, and also makes these details available for viewing in AVEVA P&ID Reports.
Isolation Details Reports
To generate a report that details the items in the isolation area, and also makes these details available for viewing in AVEVA P&ID Reports, right-click on a highlighted drawing in the drawing list and select the Generate Report option.
Alternatively, select Export from the Home tab or the File tab and then select the Isolation Excel Report option.
The report is then generated. A progress bar is displayed during this process:

Once the report is generated, it can be viewed in the Isolation Result Details tab:

In addition, an Excel spreadsheet containing the isolation details, and a PDF version of the drawing are created. They are exported into a sub-folder of the project Output folder with the name item for which the isolation process was run:

The isolation details may now also be displayed in AVEVA P&ID Reports, once the Consolidation process has been run. Refer to AVEVA P&ID Reports documentation for details.
