Procedure after creation of a new Project with Copy Project Functionality

INSTRUCTIONS TO FOLLOW BEFORE WORKING ON A NEW PROJECT CREATED USING COPY PROJECT FUNCTIONALITY IF THE OLD DRAWINGS ARE TO BE RE-USED BUT WITH NEW DRAWING NAMES
This document explains the changes the user needs to make in AVEVA P&ID after copying the project to give the all the drawings and Offsheet Connectors new names.
These steps are explained with the help of an example project: IPE:

Create a new IPEXX project from the IPE project using the ‘Copy Project’ functionality.

Change the drawing names in the IPEXX project.

Open the Project Administration application and under the Excel Interface Configuration Category Settings node set the required configurations and save them before exiting. For example:

Open the P&ID application for the newly created IPEXX project and open any of its drawings.

Under the Manage tab, in the Import/Export Group expand the Excel Filter dropdown list and select the Drawing Data and Off-Sheet Connector elements:

Click on Excel Export and then on Excel Open in the Import/Export group:

An Excel file with two sheets, namely Offsheet Connectors and Drawing Data will be opened, in which user can make the changes.
In the Offsheet Connector sheet the user can replace the values of the CONNECTEDDRG attribute with new values:

In the Drawing Data sheet the user can replace the value of the DRAWING NUMBER attribute with new value:

When all the changes are made, save the Excel file and click on Excel Import in the P&ID Application so that the drawing will be updated with the required changes:


The updated offsheet connectors in the drawing will look like as below:

Repeat the above steps for the other project drawings.
