  • VPO: This item type has a dual purpose depending on other settings saved in the project administrator.

    • By default the VPO item type will define enhanced valves symbols that can contain multiple connection ports. These connection ports can hold a bore connection set by the user. This item type was designed to support special valves with more than 4 inlet or outlet connections which is a requirement for some industries.

    • The user can setup VPO item type as generic fittings symbol instead, the reason is that it will allow them to be TAGGED using the same auto tagging rule applicable to valves. In addition, line fittings of VPO type can be validated as part of the spec driven rules. The picture below shows the flag required to set the VPO item type as generic line fitting. This setting can be found in the Line Fittings Configuration Category section of the Project Administrator.

  • LIG: This item type is used for inline symbol designed for annotative purpose and do not represent a physical item in the plant. For instance, it is often found line insulation is represented with a symbol inserted in a pipe line.

  • RTR: This item type is used for the Revision Triangle symbol.
