The project may be set to check that all labels in all P&IDs in a project are unique within a category of item. Refer to Label Validation across all Project P&IDs for details.
Some additional setup is required if the uniqueness of valve and line fitting SPP tags is to be checked. The properties and format of the SPP labels that are to be checked must be defined. This is achieved by adding a property to the SPPTAG dataset in which this definition is set up.
-
First, in AVEVA P&ID Project Administration, create an SPP Tag dataset (if this has not already been done):

See the Tag Format Sub-Category in the Line Fittings Configuration Category for details.
-
In the Dataset Sub-Category of the User Defined Attributes Configuration Category, select SPPTAG from the DataSet List:

-
Press
and set up the new attribute that will define the properties and format of the SPP
tag to be checked. For example:

-
In Project Administration, ensure the Label validation across P&IDs setting is set to Warn for both Line Fittings and Valves. See the Settings sub-categories of the Line Fittings Configuration Category and the Valves Configuration Category.

-
Duplicate messages will not be displayed when:
-
A valve is inserted into the drawing with the same tag as an existing valve.
-
A line fitting is inserted into the drawing with a tag similar to an existing valve.
-
A line fitting is inserted and its tag property value matches that of an existing line fitting.

The warning message will also be displayed in the above circumstances when the drawing is synchronized with the consolidate option selected.
