Wires can be created between two terminals, or from a single terminal.
Create a New Wire between Terminals
To create a wire between two terminals, select the two terminals and select Add Wire Between Select Terminals from the Wiring tab. The wire is then created.
If terminals with different signals were selected, what then happens depends on the setting of the Allow when a clash of signal is detected checkbox on the Signal Propagation Tab of the Options window.
-
If the Allow when a clash of signal is detected checkbox is not checked, the following message is displayed and the wire is not created:

-
If the Allow when a clash of signal is detected checkbox is checked and the Show warning message is also checked, the following message is displayed:

If Yes is clicked, a non-signal propagating wire is created. If No is clicked, no wire is created.
-
If the Allow when a clash of signal is detected checkbox is checked and the Show warning message checkbox is not checked, a non-signal propagating wire is automatically created.
If the Allow when a clash of signal is detected checkbox is not checked but it is necessary to create a wire between terminals with different signals anyway, to create such a wire select the Add Wire Between Select Terminals No Signal option instead:

This creates a non-signal propagating wire between the two terminals.
Signal propagating wires are displayed in blue. Non-signal propagating wires are displayed in green. For example:

Although it is not propagated, non-propagating signal wires display the signal from the first terminal of the two selected.
Create a New Wire from a Single Terminal
To create a wire connected to a single terminal, right-click on the space adjacent to that terminal, and not on any equipment. The following pop-up is then displayed:

Selecting the Add a New Wire option will create a new wire connected to that terminal. The new wire is added (as it is only terminated at one end) to the Cables to Terminate list.
