BS – Running Voltage Drop Calculation

The BS standard specifies the equation for voltage drop calculation as follows:
V d = (L * Id * Vc) / 1000
Where:
V d = actual voltage drop, in volts
Vc = the millivolt drop per ampere-metre route length of circuit
L = route length of circuit, in metres
Id = the current to be carried by the cable, in amperes
