Create Wiring for Supplies

  • Last UpdatedJul 23, 2025
  • 1 minute read

Electrical Engineer can automatically create the wiring between those supplies which are also loads and the supplies that feed them using pre-defined Wiring Rules. Using Wiring Rules, the cables, intermediate equipment, compartments, incomers, terminals, cores, wire numbers and cable core terminations at both the load and supply ends can be generated.

  • For MCCs, Switchboards and Distribution Boards, wiring rules are applied to the specific incomer that the supply is supplied via, rather than directly to the supply itself.

  • For Junction Boxes, Transformers, UPSs, Miscellaneous Supplies, and VSDs, the wiring rules are applied directly to the supply.

  • Wiring rules are not applicable to Generators and Sources.

Wiring Rules for supplies are created in Electrical Engineer using the Enhanced Wiring Rules facility (the "Basic" rules created in Electrical Wiring Manager are not applicable to supplies).

Note:
Refer to Supply Details - Loads Assigned / Windings Tab - Overview for how to allocate supplies to loads (including other supplies).

Note:
Loads and their supplies can also be designated when creating a Key One Line diagram. Refer to Create Content of Key One Line Diagrams for further information.
