Add New Template

If the Schematic Diagram, Termination Diagram, or Other drawing type is selected in the Drawing Information window, the Template drop-down list shows a list of all Template drawings created for the current project (all drawings in the Project Template directory.)

If the required Template is not in the project list, but the dwg. drawing file is available, it can be added to the Template list. This can be done "manually" by simply copying the Template .dwg file into the Template directory.

Alternately:

  1. Click the button in the Template field. A standard Windows Open window is then displayed called Select existing Template to copy to Project Folder. Browse and select for the required Template .dwg file and click Open.

  2. The Template Name window is then displayed:

  3. The Template Name field is used to specify the name of the new Template in the project. It initially displays the filename of the Template file. Enter a different name if required (note that the .dwg suffix will not removed from Template names automatically on saving).

  4. Alternately, to use the number of the drawing as entered in the Drawing Information window as the Template name, click the Use current Drawing No checkbox. The entry in the Template Name field then changes to the drawing number.

  5. Click Save to add the new Template to the project list. It will then be displayed in the Template field in the Drawing Information window.

  6. If there is already a Template with the selected name in the project, the user will be asked if they want to overwrite it. Click Yes if this the case.

If No is clicked, the new Template will not be saved to the project.
