After a wiring rule has been assigned to a supply or supply incomer (refer to Assign a Wiring Rule to Supplies), the wiring data may be generated.
-
In the case of MCCs, Switchboards and Distribution Boards, click the Create option on the Wiring Rule button’s drop-down menu in the Incomers section of the Details sub-tab of the supply’s Loads Assigned tab:

If no wiring rule has been assigned, the following message will be displayed:

-
For other types of supply, click Create Wiring in the supply’s Detail tab (this button will be disabled if a wiring rule has not been assigned):

-
If wiring has already been generated for the supply, a message will be displayed, asking the user to confirm that it is to be overwritten.

Click Yes to continue.
Note:
When overwriting an existing wiring rule, all data that was created as a result of the previous wiring rule being applied is deleted and replaced. This includes intermediate equipment.
This is also the case when the same wiring rule is re-applied. For example, if when that wiring rule was applied previously, it created intermediate equipment, that equipment will be deleted and replaced by the intermediate equipment current defined in the rule, which may have a different tag number, be of a different type, etc. -
If the selected wiring rule includes secondary supplies, but they have not all been assigned, this message will be displayed:

-
If they have been assigned, but they are not of the type defined in the rule, a different message will be displayed. For example:

Refer to Supply Details - Loads Assigned / Windings Tab - Overview for how to allocate supplies to loads (including other supplies).
Note:
Loads and their supplies can be designated when creating a Key One Line diagram. Refer to Create Content of Key One Line Diagrams for further information. -
If the selected wiring rule includes equipment items (for example, items between a supply and the load), and if there unassigned items of the equipment type defined in the rule available (for example, items with no supply connected), the Select Existing Tag window is displayed:

-
The window displays the existing items of the specified equipment type. The user can select one of these by clicking on it and then clicking on OK.
Alternately, the user can choose to create a new item of the equipment type by clicking New. When the wiring is created, the new item will also be created and added to the Equipment List. It will be generated with the tag number defined in the wiring rule.
-
The process of creating wiring will then start. If successful, the following message is displayed:

-
If wiring is not successfully created for any reason, and error message will be displayed to inform the user of this. For example:

A different wiring rule may need to be selected.
