AVEVA Symbol Editor

The AVEVA Symbol Editor is displayed when a symbol picture is right-clicked on in the Symbols list or the Explorer.

The above tab is then displayed and the symbol is displayed in a new window. For example:

The names of the symbol’s attributes are displayed with the symbol.
Use the standard AutoCAD facilities to edit the symbol.
In addition, the following options are available from the AVEVA Symbol Editor tab:

Edit Block |
Displays the Edit Block Definition window, from which Block Editor facilities can be accessed, used to make symbols into dynamic blocks. See Edit Blocks for more details. |

Set Aspect Ratio |
Used to set the aspect ratio of the symbol using the Set Aspect Ratio window:
Enter the required X and Y axis values and click OK. |

Set Base Point |
Used to change the base point of a symbol. When this option is selected, the user will be prompted to select a new base point (the current base point coordinates will be displayed at the command prompt). Click on the required point in the symbol drawing. The procedure is then complete. |

Close Symbol Editor |
Use this option to close the symbol editor once all the required changes have been made. The symbol editor then closes and the distribution drawing is displayed again. |
Edit Blocks
To make a symbol into a dynamic block, click Edit Block. The Edit Block Definition window is then displayed. Select <Current Drawing> from the list of blocks. For example:

Click OK. The Block Editor tab and facilities are then displayed, used to define custom properties and dynamic behaviour. Refer to AutoCAD documentation for further details.
