Drawing Information Overview

The Drawing No and Sheet No fields are used to create the drawing filename and must be completed with a unique combination of drawing number and sheet number. The filename is always DrawingNo + '-' + SheetNo (e.g XXXXX-1). Every drawing should also have either a Template or a Seed file associated with it.

Enter a number in the Index Sheet Order field to specify the order in which the drawing will be listed on Index Sheet type drawings (from lowest to highest). The number must be unique for the drawing number.

Note:
If there is a value of -1 in an Index Sheet Order field, this indicates that the drawing was upgraded as part of an older project without the Index Sheet drawing functionality. Such drawings will be ignored by Index Sheets. The user may replace any -1 values with positive Index Sheet numbers as required.

Select a Plant Area from the Plant Area field.

Select the drawing type from the list provided: Cover Sheet, Enhanced Cable Block Diagram, Enhanced Termination Report, Index Sheet, KOL Designer Drawing, Notes Sheet, Panel Board Drawing, Reference Drawing Sheet, Schematic Diagram, Termination Diagram, SLD Designer Drawing, and Other.

Note: For Cover Sheet, Index Sheet, Notes Sheet and Reference Drawing Sheet drawing types, the sheet number can be either a letter, or a number, or a combination. For other drawing types, it must be a number.

Refer to Cover, Index, Notes and Reference Drawing Sheet Drawing Types for details of these drawing types.

  • If the Enhanced Termination Report, Schematic Diagram, Termination Diagram, or Other drawing type is selected, the Template drop-down list shows a list of all Template drawings created for the current project (all drawings in the Project Template directory as listed in the Templates grid - see Templates). Select the required Template.

If the required Template is not in the project list, but the dwg. drawing file is available, it can be added to the Template list by clicking the button in the Template field. See Add New Template below for details.

  • If the Panel Board Drawing drawing type is selected, the Template drop-down list shows a list of the Panel Board Drawing Template drawings created for the current project (the drawings in the Panel Board Templates List). Select the required Template.

  • If the Enhanced Termination Report, Schematic Diagram, Termination Diagram, or Other drawing type is selected, the Seed drop-down list shows a list of Seed drawings created for the current project (all drawings in the Project Seed directory, except Enhanced Termination Report seeds - see the Use ETR Seed File checkbox below). Select the required Seed drawing (refer to Seeds List for details of Seeds).

In the case of Enhanced Cable Block Diagrams, the Seed drop-down list shows a different list of ECBD-specific Seeds (refer to Enhanced Cable Block Diagram Seeds List for details).

In the case of KOL Designer Drawings and SLD Designer Drawings the Seed drop-down list shows a different list of KOL/SLD-specific Seeds (refer to KOL/SLD Seeds List for details).

  • If the Enhanced Termination Report type is selected the Use ETR Seed File checkbox is displayed. If this is checked, the Template drop-down list is disabled and the Seed drop-down list only shows seeds of the Enhanced Termination Report type.

    Note:
Either a Template or a Seed File may be selected, not both.

  • If the Enhanced Termination Report, Schematic, SLD Designer Drawing, Panel Board Drawing, or Termination diagram type is selected, the Equipment No. field becomes active. Select the equipment that the drawing is associated with. See Select Equipment below for details.

  • If the Enhanced Cable Block Diagram drawing type is selected, the CBD Name drop-down list becomes active. The list consist of the Enhanced Cable Block Diagram drawings in Engineer. Select the CBD that the new drawing is to be linked to in Designer.

  • If the Termination Diagram drawing type is selected, the Show Ferrule Numbers on Termination Diagram checkbox is displayed. If ferrule numbers are to be displayed on the diagram instead of signal numbers, ensure that this checkbox is checked. The default setting for this checkbox is set on the Terminations Tab of the Options window.

  • If the Termination Diagram drawing type is selected, the Show Intermediate Junction Box Connections on Termination Diagram checkbox is displayed. If intermediate junction box connections are to be included on the diagram, ensure this checkbox is checked (two levels of marshalling on the left hand side of the primary junction box terminal strips may be displayed on Termination diagrams). The default setting for this checkbox is set on the Terminations Tab of the Options window.

    Note:
There are two types of Key One Line and Single Line Diagram (i.e. distribution diagrams) type in AVEVA Electrical: KOL and SLD Distribution Diagrams, and KOL and SLD Designer Drawings.
The Designer Drawing types are created in Designer. They include additional functionality compared to the Distribution Diagram types used to define their content (see Designer Drawing Symbols and Designer Drawing Facilities in AutoCAD for details). The Distribution Diagram types are created and their content defined in Engineer, and can subsequently be imported into the Designer Drawings List.
