These drawing types are used to present information about multiple drawings that "bundle" all with the same drawing number.

For example, an item may posses to many terminations to be displayed on a single Termination Diagram. Multiple Termination Diagrams must therefore be used to displayed them. Each of these drawings will have the same drawing number, and a unique sheet number. Alternately, a "bundle" of drawings with the same drawing number may be created for associated equipment items.

Cover, Index, Notes and Reference Drawing Sheet drawings can be generated to accompany these drawings, so as to provide:

  • A Cover Sheet, displaying general information regarding the drawings. The Cover Sheet, when created, will display the data entered in its Author(s), Title and Revisions tabs (see Drawing Information Tabs), and general drawing and project information (area, project number etc.).

  • An Index Sheet, display the content of the drawing "bundle", i.e. a list of the drawings in it. An Index Sheet will display all drawings with the same drawing numbers as it. The order they are listed in is controlled by their Index Sheet Order number, as entered into the field of the same name (see Drawing Information Overview).

  • A Notes Sheet, displaying any general additional information regarding the drawings. This will display the information entered in its Notes tab (see Drawing Information Tabs).

  • A Reference Drawings sheet, listing associated drawings and documentation. This will display the information entered in its Reference Dwgs tab (see Drawing Information Tabs).

Cover, Notes and Reference Drawing Sheet drawings can be used for drawing bundles consisting of drawings with different drawing numbers, and may themselves have different drawing numbers. If they have the same drawing number, they must have a unique sheet number. As described above, Index Sheet drawings must have the same drawing number as the drawings they list.

For Cover Sheet, Index Sheet, Notes Sheet and Reference Drawing Sheet drawing types, the sheet number can be either a letter, or a number, or a combination. For other drawing types, it must be a number.

Note:
In order for these drawing types to display sheet numbers with letters, on their Templates the sheet number attribute must be mapped to the {Sheet} Datalink (and not {SHT} as in most Templates). Refer to Assign Datalinks to Templates and Seed Files for details.

Note:
The index sheet order number is allocated to the index sheet order Datalink values of drawings of the Index Sheet drawing type. Changing one will change the other.
