The General tab is used to define the cable sizing standard, enhanced wiring rule settings for imported data and the phase naming.

Cable Sizing Defaults
Select the cable sizing standard to be used from the Cable Sizing Standard list.
If sizing of zero length cables is to be enabled, check the Allow Zero Length Cable Sizing checkbox. In the Default Length field enter the default length that will be used when sizing cables for which a length has not been entered.

Enhanced Wiring Rule setting for Imported Data
The options in this section control the extent to which imports from Excel and ETAP can overwrite data created by the application of Enhanced Wiring Rules.
Overwriting of Enhanced Wiring Rules can be prevented entirely by selecting the Do not allow import of data option.
To enable imports to delete cables or equipment items, etc. created by the application of Enhanced Wiring Rules. select the Remove reference and delete all existing data created by Enhanced Wiring Rule option.
If imports are simply to remove the links between the rules to these objects without deleting them, select the Remove reference and maintain all existing data created by Enhanced Wiring Rule option.
Miscellaneous Options
Select the default voltage for new equipment in the Default Voltage list.
If the short circuit calculation is to use the calculated cable temperature by default, click Use Calculated Cable Temperature. If the short circuit calculation is to use the conductor temperature by default, click Use Conductor Temperature.
Note:
The list of voltages is maintained using the Voltages window. Refer to Project Voltages for further information.
Select the default power units to be used when specifying motors (kW or hp) from the Motor Power Units list.
Phase Naming
Enter the names to be used to identify phases in the Phase Naming fields.
If phase names are changed, the following message is displayed:

Click Yes to continue with the change.
