Edit Attribute Mappings

Attribute mappings can be added, changed and deleted.

Not all attribute mappings can be edited or deleted, as some are required for the functioning of the interface. Those that cannot be edited are displayed in grey text. Those that can be edited are displayed in black text.

Add Attribute Mapping

To add an attribute mapping to an ETAP element/AVEVA item type mapping:

  1. Select an existing attribute mapping that may be edited within the ETAP element/AVEVA item type mapping, and click Add Attribute.

  2. A new attribute row is then added to the bottom of the list of attribute mappings.

  3. To select the ETAP attribute to be mapped, Hover the mouse over the ETAP Attribute field of the new mapping row. A button is then displayed at the right-hand side of the field. Click it to display the list of ETAP attributes of the ETAP element type, and select the required attribute.

  4. Repeat this procedure for the AVEVA Attribute.

    Note:
This list of available attributes can be restricted in order to keep this drop-down list to a manageable size and so as to not slow down the interface. See Edit Attribute Picklists.

  5. From the list accessible from the Direction field, specify whether the mapping is to be used for both exports and imports ("Both Ways" - the default setting), for exports only ("AVEVA Electrical > ETAP"), imports only (ETAP > AVEVA Electrical"), or neither ("None").

The None option is for situations where mappings are being setup that are not yet required for a project. Or for example, where a company uses a standard set of mappings for all projects, and while some may not be required for specific projects, they should not be deleted.

Edit Attribute Mapping

To edit an attribute mapping, select different attributes or a different direction for it as described above.

Delete Attribute Mapping

To delete an attribute mapping, select its row and click Delete Selected.

The mapping is then deleted. Note that there is no message requesting that the deletion be confirmed. The deletion is immediate.
