Assign Compartment Elements to Compartments

Default "Connector" elements will be created an placed in compartment when compartments are added to the rule layout:

These default elements must subsequently be replaced with compartment elements by allocating a compartment typical to the compartment.

If the rule is of the "Incomer" assignment type, compartment typicals must also be allocated to the primary load tag (as the rule will be applied to items with incomers).

To assign compartment elements to compartments:

  1. Right-click on the compartment (not the connector), and select Edit Detail from the menu that is then displayed. The Compartment Detail window is then displayed:

    Note:
This window can also be used to add or edit a description of the compartment, and set the load flow to closed or open.

  2. Click on the button next to the Compartment Typical field. The Select from Catalogue window is then displayed:

  3. The window lists the compartment typicals from the Compartment Typicals Catalogue. Double-click on the required typical, or click on it and then click Select.

  4. The Select from Catalogue window then closes and the selected typical is displayed in the Compartment Typical field in the Compartment Detail window.

  5. The typical elements then replace the default connector element in the compartment. For example:

    Note:
Only compartment typicals and their elements are created when wiring is generated from an enhanced wiring rule. If the user unassigns a typical from a compartment (by accessing the Select from Catalogue window and clicking the None button), and chooses the option of leaving the individual elements in place, although these elements may be displayed on the rule layout, they will not be generated when the rule is applied. A default connector element will be created instead.
