Pre-Defined Distribution Diagram Symbols

A list of pre-defined symbols for use on distribution diagrams is supplied with Electrical Engineer. These symbols and this list cannot be edited, but the fields selected to label these symbols on a diagram can be changed.

The user may also link these Engineer distribution diagram symbols with Electrical Designer Drawing symbols. Distribution diagrams in Electrical Engineer may be used as the basis for drawings of the KOL and SLD Designer Drawing types in the Electrical Designer module. When Electrical Designer Drawings are generated, the selected Designer symbols will then be used automatically instead of the default symbols.

Pre-defined symbols are supplied for the following:

• Busbars

• Cables

• Compartments

• Distribution Boards

• Motor Control Centres

• Switchboards

Click Setup > Symbols > Pre Defined in the Project tab. The Pre Defined Symbol List window is then displayed:

The window lists, for both Key One Line and Single Line diagrams, the available fields for each type of pre-defined symbol. Next to each available field there is a checkbox. Those fields selected to label a symbol have their checkboxes checked.

• Check or uncheck checkboxes as required to change the list of selected fields. The list of selected fields for a particular symbol/diagram type is displayed beneath each list.

• Use the Search Field field to search for a specific field or fields. Fields that match the entered search phrase will be highlighted in grey.

• If required, map symbols to Designer Drawing symbols by selecting them from the Designer Drawing Symbol list. The lists will consist of Designer Drawing symbols of the same type as the Electrical Engineer symbol.

  Note:
  The same symbol .dwg file may be used for the same symbol in both modules if required.

• Click Clear for a specific symbol to uncheck all its checkboxes.

• Click Clear All to uncheck all checkboxes for all symbols.

• Click Save to save any changes and exit the window.

• Click Cancel to exit the window without saving changes.
