Schematic diagram, enhanced cable block diagram, termination diagram and distribution diagram drawing records may be imported from other AVEVA Electrical applications and from Excel:
|
Drawing Type |
Application |
From |
|
Schematic Diagrams |
Electrical Engineer |
When the Schematic Required option is selected for an item in the Load or Supply List (or relevant Detail window). |
|
Termination Diagrams |
Electrical Wiring Manager |
When the Dwg Required option is selected for equipment in the Equipment List (or Equipment Detail window). |
|
Key One Line and Single Line Designer Drawings |
Electrical Engineer |
When the Intelligent Drawing Required option is selected for a diagram in the Distribution Diagrams list. |
|
Key One Line and Single Line Distribution Diagrams |
Electrical Engineer |
When the Non-intelligent Drawing Required option is selected for a diagram in the Distribution Diagrams list. |
|
Enhanced Cable Block Diagrams |
Electrical Wiring Manager |
When an Enhanced Cable Block Diagram is present in the Cable Block Diagrams list. |
Note:
Titles of new drawings in the Drawings List will be created based on values assigned to the equipment engineering data, according
to configuration rules defined by users. Refer to Drawing Title Setup Preferences for details.
Note:
A distribution diagram from Electrical Engineer can be added to the Drawing list as both a KOL or SLD Distribution Diagram and a
KOL or SLD Designer Drawing if required.
If both types of drawing are created from a distribution diagram, then the drawing
number for the Distribution Diagram will have a 1 added to the end of it so that is
different from that of the Designer Drawing.
To check Wiring Manager and Engineer for drawings
As required:
-
Click Check for New Distribution Diagrams, Check for New CBDs, Check for New Schematic Diagrams or Check for New Terminations on the List Tools - Drawings tab.
Note:
If drawing numbers contain special characters such as <, >, ?, * etc. they will not be imported. A message is displayed to inform the user of this when any of the above options is selected. -
The Drawing Check Options window is then displayed (for example):

-
If required, select an area from the Area list. Drawings will only be checked for in the selected area. The window below the list displays the selected area(s). By default, all areas are checked.
-
Select the required option or options:
-
If the Check for New option is selected, new diagrams of the appropriate type will be added to the Drawings List for each new diagram found in Electrical Wiring Manager or Electrical Engineer.
-
If the Check and Update Existing option is selected, details of diagrams that already have drawings in the Drawings List are checked, and the details in the Drawings List are updated if changes are detected.
-
If the Check for Deleted option is checked, diagrams for any diagrams that have been deleted from Electrical Wiring Manager o Electrical Engineer ill be removed from the Drawings List.
Note:
After distribution diagrams of the Design Drawing type (i.e. "intelligent") are imported from Electrical Engineer, no link is maintained between the diagram in Electrical Engineer and the drawing in Electrical Designer. Therefore updates and deletion cannot be checked for. Only new "intelligent" distribution diagrams can be checked for, as indicated in the Drawing Check Options window for distribution diagrams:
-
-
Click Check.
-
The appropriate list is then checked for new, updated and/or deleted equipment or distribution diagrams depending on the option(s) specified.
A Progress window displays the progress of the check (for example):

-
When the procedure is completed, the number of added, changed and/or deleted drawings is displayed (for example):

-
If deleted equipment or diagrams are detected, the user will be asked to confirm the deletion of the relevant drawing from the Drawings List. For example:

Titles of new drawings in the Drawings List will be created based on values assigned to the equipment engineering data, according to configuration rules defined by users. Refer to Drawing Title Setup Preferences for further information.
