The procedure for entering power requirements for motors is different from other types of load.

If the load is a motor, the source of the data used for the power calculations is displayed in the Data Source for Calculation fields in the Absorbed section, either Catalogue (as described below), ETAP (if the motor was imported from ETAP), or Manual if the user entered the data or edited catalogue or ETAP data after it populated the tab (for example if the mechanical load is edited).

If the load is a motor, a motor type can be selected by clicking the button in the Motor Catalogue No. field. The Select a Motor from Catalogue window is then displayed:

Use this window to select a catalogue motor by double-clicking on it or clicking on it then clicking Select. The fields on the Power tab will then be completed with the details of the catalogue motor. These may be amended if required.

For more information on the motor catalogue, refer to Motor Catalogue.

Note:
All the data is copied from the motor catalogue. The system load calculations are only executed when a load field is subsequently changed.

When the data source is from Motor Catalogue or ETAP then 100%, 75%, 50% efficiency and power factor values are displayed in the tab, instead of just 100% values. For example:

This enables the user to check that the Loading Factor value is being used to calculate absorbed power efficiency and power factor as expected.

If any of the data from the catalogue is changed, the tab will revert to displaying 100% values only.
