The Explorer displays a hierarchical view of Electrical equipment grouped by Plant Area and type, and cables grouped first by whether they were created in AVEVA Electrical or AVEVA Instrumentation, and then by their source ("From") equipment.
For the KOL Designer Drawing type, all project equipment and cables are listed. For the SLD Designer Drawing type, only equipment and cables associated with the equipment that is the subject of the drawing are listed (i.e. only those fed by it, feeding it etc.).
The names of equipment and cables that are in the current drawing are displayed in pink, and their nodes are automatically displayed (i.e. the nodes above them are automatically expanded).
Details of the busbars, compartments, windings etc. of equipment can be displayed by expanding the equipment nodes in question. For example:
Where the project includes vertical busbars, they are also displayed in the tree-view, under their associated horizontal busbars.
Beneath the hierarchy, pictures of the AutoCAD drawings mapped to the currently selected symbol type (or cable) are displayed. These can be placed on the drawing and editing facilities accessed from them as described in Symbols.
A number of facilities are available in the Explorer. Right-click on an equipment item or cable to display the following menu:
The menu includes the following options:

Refresh |
Refreshes the hierarchy with the latest information from the database. Also removes all highlighting and returns the Explorer to the appearance it was in when it was opened. |

Link |
Used to link the selected equipment or cable to an item on the drawing. After selecting this option, click on the drawing object to be linked. The object must match the equipment type of the selected item in the Explorer. If it is not, an message will be displayed to inform the user of the this. The selected drawing object is then linked to the AVEVA Electrical item. The item’s name in the Explorer will turn pink. The drawing object is automatically labelled on the drawing with the attributes of the selected item. Note: |

Un-Link |
Used to remove the link between a database item in the Explore and a drawing object. When this option is selected the link is immediately removed. The item’s name in the Explorer changes from pink to black. Note: |

Find |
Used to find, select and zoom to an item on the drawing. When this option is selected, the Find window is displayed. |

To search for equipment and cables only, leave the Show Equipment/Cable Only checkbox checked. To search for other items such as compartments and circuit breakers, uncheck the checkbox. Enter the name of the item to be searched for in the field (note that this facility is case sensitive). A list of the names of items on the drawing with names that beginning with the characters already entered is displayed as the user types. Select from this list, or type in the entire name. Click OK. The item is selected on the drawing and zoomed into to. It is also selected in the Explorer and highlighted in light blue. For example:

Find Load |
Used to find the loads fed by a supply. When this option is selected for a supply, its loads are highlighted in light blue in the Explorer. For example:

Find Supply |
Used to find the supplies of a load. When this option is selected for a load, its supplies are highlighted in light blue in the Explorer. For example:

Find Cable |
Used to find the cables from an item of equipment. When this option is selected for
a load, the cables are highlighted in light blue in the Explorer. For example: |

Zoom To |
Used to select and zoom to the item on the drawing (if it is a linked item). |
|
Collapse All |
Collapses all the nodes in the Explorer. |
|
Expand Selected |
Expands the selected node in the Explorer. |
