Remove a tag from a source alert with synchronized instantiated alerts

An administrator has the following:

  • An asset type with at least one property defined.

  • An Asset 1 and Asset 2 associated with the asset type.

  • Asset 1 has Tag 1 mapped to asset type properties.

  • Asset 2 has Tag 2 mapped to asset type properties.

  • A source alert under Asset 1 associated with asset type.

An administrator then:

  1. Creates an alert under Asset 1 using Tag 1 and Tag 3, a "global tag" in the solution not associated with any asset type definition.

  2. Saves the alert to the asset type and all instances.

These conditions result in:

An instantiated alert is created for Asset 2 using Tag 2 and Tag 3.

An administrator then:

  1. Deletes Tag 1. The asset type tag mapping for Asset 1 will report Tag 1 as a deleted entity.

  2. Removes Tag 1 from the source alert definition and saves the changes to the asset type and all instances.

    These conditions result in:

    • The source alert is updated to reflect the removal of Tag 1.

    • The instantiated alert is not updated.

      • The source alert is now considered an alert without a completed tag to property mapping.
