Import a CSV file

Before importing a model item CSV file, make sure that it is properly formatted according to the item type.

• For item-specific rules, see the "columns" topics under Model item CSV file format.

Note: The maximum data size limit for a single equipment is 2 MB.

To import a CSV file

1. At the upper right of the item type's tab, select .

   The Import dialog appears.

   

2. Do one of the following:

   • Drag the CSV file onto the gray import target area.

   • Select here to open a File Upload dialog.

   After the import is initiated, a import status message appears.

3. To close the message, select OK or wait several seconds for the message to close automatically.

   A result tile appears in the dialog.

   

   You can continue to import additional CSV files. Result tiles for each import are added to the dialog.

To redisplay the import summary for a result tile

• Hover over (using a cursor) or tap and hold (using a touch screen) the result tile.

  

To display error details for a result tile with import failures

• Hover over (using a cursor) or tap and hold (using a touch screen) the result tile and on the import summary tooltip select Show Details.

  

Importing a File with a Header Row But No Other Content

If you import a CSV file with only a header row and no rows for items, the file will import successfully with the status message that 0 rows imported successfully and 0 rows failed to import.
