Utilization events and utilization reasons
A piece of equipment's efficiency is tracked as you enter utilization events and apply a utilization reason for each event. The utilization reason indicates why the piece of equipment state changed. Examples of utilization reasons could be Running a Job, Bottle Jam, Mechanical Repair, and Daily Maintenance.
Equipment states
At all times, a piece of equipment will have an equipment state assigned to it. For example, Running, Emergency Stop, Down, or Maintenance.
Every utilization reason is mapped to an equipment state. So equipment states are typically applied to an event when a utilization reason is assigned to it. For example, the reason Bottle Jam could be mapped to the equipment state Emergency Stop. However, an equipment state can also be applied directly to an event, without a reason being applied.
Each equipment state is associated with a color in the user interface that is assigned during system setup.
Equipment state types
For OEE analysis purposes, equipment state statistics are aggregated into three predefined equipment state types: Runtime, Idle, and Downtime. So each equipment state is mapped to one of these three equipment state types.
Each of the equipment state types are associated with a color in the user interface. These colors cannot be changed.
