Edit an instantiated alert definition

To edit an instantiated alert

If the alert you select to edit is an instantiated alert, the following dialog appears:

Select Edit template to open the source alert, then make your changes. When you save the source alert, the changes you make are applied to any instantiated versions of the alert as well.

Only administrators can edit a source alert.

If you are not an administrator, select Create copy to make your changes and save the copy as a new alert. All the data from the instantiated alert will be copied to the new alert.

The new alert is a unique alert and can be used to create a source alert once it is associated to an asset type.
