Define tag aliases

A tag alias is a friendly, searchable name that you can assign to a tag.
Similar to a nickname for a person, a tag alias is generally used as an easy-to-remember replacement for a tagname that might be cryptic or cumbersome.
For example, suppose you have a device with a predefined ID like "SEA9-81Ma-Dr12-onAz". Everyone on the factory floor calls the device the "blue box", because if its appearance. You could assign a tag alias to reflect the name everyone uses:

You can organize your tags by location by adding location information in the tag dictionary.
To define tag aliases for your tags

Select Administration from the navigation rail.

Select Tag Dictionary.

If prompted, use your Microsoft account credentials to sign in.
You will see an Excel worksheet with the Configuration Assistant add-in pane on the right.

For each tag you want to work with, type a tag alias in the Alias field.

In the add-in pane, select Save.
