Production source equipment is identified for each line to determine the line's production amount. This is the equipment that is producing what would be considered the line's output product.
You must mark one piece of equipment in the line as the production source from which the line's production amount is to be derived. This means that the good count comes from the marked piece of equipment. The waste count comes from the production source equipment and the bottleneck equipment.
Note the following about production source equipment:
-
At least one piece of equipment in the line must be marked as the line’s production source.
-
Only one piece of equipment in a path through the line can be marked as a production source.
-
Only equipment that has OEE calculations enabled can be marked as a production source.
