Define custom engineering units

If your data contains engineering units not present in AVEVA Insight's Engineering Unit Catalog, you can map your unit to an existing unit from the catalog and enable unit conversions to your custom engineering unit in charts. You can map your custom units using the Engineering Units administration page. For more information about converting engineering units in a chart, see Convert engineering units for tags in your chart.

Custom engineering unit mapping supports up to 5,000 units.

Note that engineering units are bound to a tag's version and its respective data set. If a given tag's engineering unit is modified to a new dimension, such as m/s to Kelvin, the data set associated with the original engineering unit cannot be used in unit-of-measure conversions to the new dimension.
