Work with an existing data source in AVEVA Insight Publisher

Using AVEVA Insight Publisher, you can modify the location and geolocation of existing data sources as well as manage their authentication tokens.

To work with an existing data source in AVEVA Insight Publisher

1. Open AVEVA Insight Publisher and select Publish, Import or Authorize, depending on the type of data you're working with.

2. Select your Region.

3. Select Existing account.

4. Login using your AVEVA Insight credentials, then select your solution.

5. On the Publishing to AVEVA Insight page, select an existing data source from the list of Previously published data sources.

   

6. Select Next.

   The action screen displays.

   

7. On the action screen,

   • Select Modify to add or change the location and geolocation of the data source you selected.

     If you change the name of the of the data source you selected to a unique name that does not already exist, a new data source is created.

   • Select Replace to create a new authentication token for the data source you selected.

     Important: Once the new token is created, any applications that were using the previous token can no longer publish data to this data source.

   • Select Share to create multiple tokens for the same data source. These tokens allow multiple applications to publish to the same data source.

     Important: Only use this option if you know different applications will not send data to the same tags at the same time.
